Getting started
Do players need to download an app?
Players do not need to download anything from an app store. The organiser shares the Astro Weekly group link or join code, and each player opens it in their phone browser to respond for the next game. They can also add Astro Weekly to their home screen later if they want app-like access, but that step is optional.
How do people join?
The organiser creates a group and shares its direct link or six-character join code. Players open the link, create or sign in to their Astro Weekly account, and request or confirm membership according to the group’s settings. After joining the group, they can use the same web app each week to say whether they are available for the next football game.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Astro Weekly is a responsive web app built to work in modern phone browsers, so organisers and players can open it from a shared link without visiting an app store. Supported browsers can also install it to the home screen for quicker access. The core weekly tasks—joining, checking the waitlist, viewing teams, and reviewing payment status—remain available in the browser.

Running the week
How do I run the week?
Start by setting the regular night and game details, then invite players with the group link or join code. For each game, use the Next Game view to see who is available, who is waiting, how the teams are balanced, and who has paid. Update the list as plans change, then use the manager guide for the full step-by-step weekly workflow.
Can I run more than one group?
Yes. One organiser account can create and manage more than one football group, which is useful if you run games on different nights, at different venues, or with different sets of players. Each group keeps its own members, weekly game, availability, waiting list, team setup, and payment status, so information from one group does not get mixed into another.
Only 5-a-side?
No. Astro Weekly can support the same organising loop for common small-sided formats such as five-a-side, six-a-side, and seven-a-side. The exact squad size and team setup depend on the group’s rules, but the workflow stays familiar: collect availability, move overflow players to a waiting list, create fair teams, track weekly subs, and keep player ratings over time.
Is this for a club with lots of teams and a committee?
Astro Weekly is designed primarily for recurring social football groups rather than large clubs with formal committees, multiple squads, league administration, and complex registration workflows. It suits the organiser who currently coordinates a weekly game through messages and spreadsheets and wants one practical place for availability, a waiting list, fair teams, subs, and player ratings.

Payments
What does who's paid mean?
Who’s paid is a simple manager checklist for tracking weekly subs. Once a player pays by the method your group already uses, the manager marks that player as paid so the remaining names are obvious. Astro Weekly does not process card payments or hold money yet; it records payment status so organisers can stop comparing bank transfers with chat messages.
